Chalet - Rainerova chata
It proudly enjoys title of the oldest chalet in the High Tatras
It is the first and the oldest chalet in the High Tatras. It was built in 1865 by the Hungarian entrepreneur Ján Juraj Rainer and from its inception it was intended to serve as a shelter for tourists.
This hike is one of the easier ones, so everyone can manage it. So how do you get there? Easy!
Directly from Hrebienok there is an easily accessible, even barrier-free trail leading to it, which is one of the shortest trails (red marker, approximately 30 minutes). Or you can comfortably take the cable car from Starý Smokovec to Hrebienok. If you would still like to take a non-classical route, the last option to get to the hut is from Tatranská Lesná (yellow sign, up to 2 hours).
And right at the chalet you can enjoy a small snack or an exposition of the history of mountaineering and Tatra porters...
