4 tips for sports and adrenaline lovers

#1 Rock climbing
The High Tatras in summer are not just about quiet walks. For those who crave adventure, they offer great opportunities. Rock climbing is one of them. Rock climbing is a challenge for the adventurous who want to break out of their comfort zone and overcome their limits.

There are many different climbing routes in the High Tatras, ranging from easy to challenging. Great places for rock climbing are, for example, Velická Stena, Lomnický or Kežmarský štít, Veľká Svišt'ovka near Stary Smokovec or Tatranská Kotlina, where you will find various difficulties suitable for beginners and experienced climbers. Before choosing a route, read the information about the difficulty and length of the route and choose the one that best suits your abilities and experience. If you are unsure of your abilities or want to feel safer, you can hire an experienced guide.

It is important to take care of safety. Always prepare properly before you climb, follow safety instructions and climbing rules. Think about your responsibility to yourself and your surroundings. And what do you need for such a climb? The climbing equipment includes a saddle, climbing shoes, climbing rope, helmet, harness, carabiners and other climbing aids. Depending on the season and the weather forecast, choose appropriate clothing and footwear. Layering clothing and good quality trekking boots with good grip are essential. In addition to climbing gear and clothing, be sure to pack plenty of water as well as energy, perhaps in the form of a small snack.

One of the most popular sunrise spots is the climb to Rysy. With its altitude of 2,503 m, it is one of the most challenging and interesting climbs in the High Tatras. Amazing views and unforgettable experiences you will surely take away from the climb to Lomnicky Peak. It is another very popular climb that can only be climbed with a mountain guide. But if you climb it, you will be rewarded with a beautiful panorama. Notable peaks where you can have this unforgettable experience are also Gerlachovský štít, Slavkovský štít or Kriváň. It is ideal to always plan your hike with someone. Make sure to bring a headlamp. :)
